Corporations: A Model For Society

“Steinmetz saw the corporation as a model for a future society, which may sound kind of odd, and so he came up with this theory; and it’s related to theory’s of technocracy. It’s related to his early socialist work about how to run a good society. He’s not too enamored with the political process. He believes in experts. Democracy is a very messy thing. There should be an industrial senate. That the heads of the companies should form this senate and vote on the way the economy should be run. This should all be modeled in a very efficient corporation.”
